Charlotte Conservatory Theatre strives to engage its city in the transformative power of impeccably produced plays, making a case for the eternal power of theatre as a force for civic good. By connecting theatre’s complex history to the conscience of the present day, we hope to energize and sustain a new generation of theatregoers who are hungry to engage with art as a cornerstone of a healthy, inclusive, and equitable community.

Inspired by this country’s most vital and enduring regional theaters, we are also passionate about creating an environment for our artists that celebrates process and professionalism. As we grow as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we look forward to fostering a workplace culture that allows artists to do their best work, which subsequently can pave the way for Charlotte to become one of the finest theatrical hubs in the region.

The "conservatory" element of our company points to a belief in repeated collaboration. We want to create a family of artists who work together again and again, learning from each other and bringing out each other's best craft. Through shows, classes, readings, and other events, this conservatory family will grow in trust together while also delivering top notch programming to Charlotte audiences.
